Welcome to The Brushman's School of Arts, established in 1983 and officially recognized by the Government of Kerala in 1985. Pioneering the arts in Kannur, we are the first institution of our kind, offering students a unique blend of Fine Arts, Graphics, and Animation. Over the past three decades, our institution has flourished, producing a cadre of Artists and Designers known for their originality and prominence in advertising fields both within the State and Abroad. We take pride in nurturing distinguished Artists, contributing significantly to the cultural tapestry of our country. Our three major departments, namely Fine Arts, Graphics & Animation, provide a comprehensive platform for students. The Fine Arts Department explores traditional media, fostering innovation in both ideas and techniques with an emphasis on environmental studies. Graphics Department is dedicated to training students in Advertising and communication media, guiding them towards becoming Professional Designers. From foundational courses to advanced advertising designs, our curriculum includes studies in typography, painting, illustration, and reproduction methods in processing and printing. Animation Department introduce students to the Computer Graphics in various type of Advertising designs- from conventional style to latest 2D-3D modeling Softwares (Flash, 3D-Max, Maya) The training reserves them a cutting edge in Advertising and Animation Keeping in the view the latest structural reforms in the area of AppliedArts, additional exposure to Computer Graphics has been introduced in the syllabus of this course. This is essential to enhance the student instincts and promote themselves in the area of Art Director, Animators, Graphic Designers and other Communication Media specialists.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The School provides training to talented persons in all branches of Fine Arts to enable them efficiently perform in their carrier. The main function of the school is to promote Fine Arts and Culture.

(A) Impart training in all aspects of Fine Arts,

(B) Provide Certificate and Diploma to successful

trainees who have Completed the prescribed courses.

(C) Co-ordinate the activities for conducting Exhibitions, Seminars, Workshops and Camps for students and Professional Artists.

FACULTY

Regular and full time faculty has been appointed for teaching different courses. In addition, eminent personalities from the field of Fine Arts, Applied Arts and Visual Media are invited as visiting Lecturers.

COURSE OF STUDY

A. KGCE Fine Arts & Animation

Two year Course Leading to Kerala govt.

Certificate in Fine Arts and Animation.

B. BFA (Bachelor in Fine Arts)

Three Year Degree Program in Bachelor in Fine Arts (Painting/ Sculpture/Applied Arts/Photography= /History of Arts)

C. MFA (Master in Fine arts)

Two Year Post Graduation Program in (Painting/Sculpture/Applied Arts/Photography/History of Arts)

D. Professional Diploma in Graphics/Animation I Photography/ Videography

1 year Leading Diploma Program.

E. NATA, JEE, BFA, NIFT,NEED Aptitude Test Coaching

1/6/12 Month Coaching for BArch, Fine Arts, Fashion Designing, NID Designing Courses.

F. HOBBY CLASSES Drawing/ Painting/ Fabric/Mural/ Oil Painting

For School Going Students & House wife, We are Conducting evening and Saturday Sunday Classes.

ATTENDANCE

A student shall be required to attain 80% attendance, including absence on medical grounds. A student who fails to do so shall not be permitted to continue on the rolls.
