The Brushman's School of Arts was established in 1983. It obtained it's recognition from the Government of Kerala, 1985. The institution was the first one of its kind in Kannur town initiiating to students in various branches of Fine Arts. The institution has grown during the last Three decades, and of having produced a number of Artists and Designers of standing originality, who are in the forefront. of advertising fields in the State and Abroad. Over the two decades, the institution has nurtured in large number of distinguished Artists their by contributing greatly to the art of our country. The institution has three major departments Viz; Fine Arts, Applied (Graphic) Art & Animation The Fine Arts Department helps in the study of various traditional media and ways of expression besides encouraging innovations both in ideas and techniques. It emphases study from the environment.
The Applied (Graphic) Art Department trains students in Advertising and communication media to help them become Professional Designers. Right from the foundation courses, a student is led on to advertising designs. Studies in typography are supplemented with expenence in painting section, illustration through reproduction methods in processing and Printing section.
Animation Department introduce students to the Computer Graphics in various type of Advertising designs- from conventional style to latest 2D-3D modeling Softwares (Flash, 3D-Max, Maya) The training reserves them a cutting edge in Advertising and Animation Keeping in the view the latest structural reforms in the area of AppliedArts, additional exposure to Computer Graphics has been introduced in the syllabus of this course. This is essential to enhance the student instincts and promote themselves in the area of Art Director, Animators, Graphic Designers and other Communication Media specialists.
The School provides training to talented persons in all branches of Fine Arts to enable them efficiently per- form in their carrier. The main function of the school is to promote Fine Arts and Culture.
(A) Impart training in all aspects of Fine Arts,
(B) Provide Certificate and Diploma to successful
trainees who have Completed the prescribed courses.
(C) Co-ordinate the activities for conducting Exhibitions, Seminars, Workshops and Camps for students and Professional Artists.
Regular and full time faculty has been appointed for teaching different courses. In addition, eminent personalities from the field of Fine Arts, Applied Arts and Visual Media are invited as visiting Lecturers.

B. BFA (Bachelor in Fine Arts)
Three Year Degree Program in Bachelor in Fine Arts (Painting/ Sculpture/Applied Arts/Photography= /History of Arts)
C. MFA (Master in Fine arts)
Two Year Post Graduation Program in (Painting/Sculpture/Applied Arts/Photography/History of Arts)
D. Professional Diploma in Graphics/Animation I Photography/ Videography
1 year Leading Diploma Program.
E. NATA, JEE, BFA, NIFT,NEED Aptitude Test Coaching
1/6/12 Month Coaching for BArch, Fine Arts, Fashion Designing, NID Designing Courses.
F. HOBBY CLASSES Drawing/ Painting/ Fabric/Mural/ Oil Painting
For School Going Students & House wife, We are Conducting evening and Saturday Sunday Classes.
A student shall be required to attain 80% attendance, including absence on medical grounds. A student who fails to do so shall not be permitted to continue on the rolls.
